Birth Power - Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt

Birth Power was established at the end of 2008 to provide an affordable alternative to the two main providers in the Hutt Valley. The aim was not only to provide a more affordable alternative but to focus on providing quality education that was independent and did not require promoting sponsors products, allowing parents to make informed decisions without bias

All our classes are taken by qualified Childbirth Educators, some with over 15 years experience in teaching. The focus is not only on providing relevant information to the class but also on working with the group to help build a support network for after the baby is born. This is achieved by doing various group activities during the course. At Birth Power we believe that it is important to have this support network after baby is born, especially for first time parents, as it allows the group to get together and share experience's and problems. We will always have the support of family and friends, but being able to share with a group of people who have gone through the same experiences is important.

Our courses aim to offer new parents a little knowledge to help them feel empowered and excited by what they are about to achieve. There is no greater achievement in life than bringing a baby into the world. With knowledge and confidence parents are able to take more control of their birth experience . We work on creating a fun and interactive environment as it is a belief of ours that most people are able to learn, and retain information, if it is offered in a way they can relate to.

We aim to keep our antenatal classes to around 10 couples per course. Since our launch we have become very popular and our classes do tend to fill up fast, so we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment

At Birth Power we not only offer antenatal classes, we take the next step by offering support classes for parents after their baby has been born. Feel free to check out what other courses we have on offer. We also provide support for parents who are struggling with breastfeeding and we have a good network of people in the Hutt Valley who are more then willing to provide there time to help out.
